Against All Odds…

Life often puts us in situations where you think, “Now that’s just next to Impossible!”. Remember, these are the times when God proves Himself. It is amazing how you feel like God never comes to rescue when you can change things with your own strength. He only steps into the scene when you’ve given up; have no hope for it whatsoever. It’s when you say, “There is no way I can do it!”. This is the time He steps into the scene and says “That’s why I am here!”. I have seen this happen time and time again. His ways are so different to ours.

These days, when I know something just can’t happen…I am reminded of this verse in the bible “…Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27). As of now, I feel like whatever I am in, It is impossible for things to change. I feel like they are irreversible. I know for sure that there is no way I can do something to change things around. It’s out of my hands. But if I had to answer the question God poses to each of us, I would say “No!”. Nothing is hard for the Lord!

Believe in the Impossible…Have a little Faith! Hold on to what you once thought was just not possible because God is about to change that. If it’s God will, He will make it come to pass. His words are too powerful. When He says something, It doesn’t come back to him empty. It is done!

It is well…

Ever sang that song, it is well…it is well with my soul? Sometimes, I feel like the author of that song has written those lyrics when His eyes were fixed upon Jesus.

Can you say it is well with your soul at this very moment? Fix your eyes upon Jesus. Never let anything distract your attention from Him.

Keep on praying. Become the man or woman of prayer…constantly ask God for guidance even in the littlest of things. Our heavenly father would love that.

So great the father’s love for us…

A lot of times during easter, people tend to focus on the sufferings, pain and humiliation that Jesus had to go through, but I believe we forgot the main point here.

The focus should be on His LOVE for mankind – His creation. It’s love we cannot yet fully comprehend with. For God SO LOVED the world that he gave His ONLY begotten son to die for us on the cross. He did this that we may have redemption from our sins, enjoy the free gift of salvation, and be able to live a guilt-free life of abundance.

Thank God for His love and kindness. Where would we be without that? Ever thought about that?

Be a good example…

children-imitate

You should always behave in front of your Children as they imitate you and learn from you in their young age. “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” – Proverbs 22:6

We’re just like monkeys!

Today, our pastor was sharing a story about how they used to capture monkeys in his time. They used to put some sort of tempting food item inside a jar near the monkeys habitat. Within a few minutes, there will always be a monkey who would come down from the safety of trees to investigate. They are very curious beings just like us.

He quickly realizes that its a food item…and that he can’t get it out because its too wide. Neither can he take the jar and run to the top because its fixed to the ground.  As the men approach to capture it….It just wouldn’t let go of that food item. The monkey is ready to risk its life but just wouldn’t let go.

We are somewhat like them, aren’t we? There are things that we lock our sight onto. No matter how many warnings we get from God, how dangerous it is or how its, ‘so not worth it’…we just wouldn’t let go.

Start to let go when God tells you to let go. God has better things for you. Start harkening to that still small voice from the Spirit of God. You’ll be safe and sound in the palm of his hands.
