The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. (Psalm 145:18)
My dearly beloved, the Lord is very near to you. He shall fulfill all your heart’s desires. “…the desire of the righteous shall be granted” (Proverbs 10:24). According to the above mentioned Scripture verse, the Lord fulfills the desires of the righteous.
Although we are not faithful in things concerning the Lord, He will be near to all who call upon Him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them” (Psalm 145:18, 19). When you call upon the Lord sincerely, He will answer your prayers.
I happened to watch a TV Programme on the life story of a young girl. This young girl had no hands. The person who interviewed her asked her, “You do not have both hands. What do you think about it?” She replied, “Although I do not have hands, I have my loving Jesus with me who does everything for me” (Psalm 138:8).
Her parents were also interviewed in that programme. Her mother said, “Since my daughter does not have hands, I go through much agony. I feel that I am responsible for her plight. After I got married, I was not blessed with a child. My husband did not know anything about the Lord. So he forcibly took me to a person who practiced black magic. He did some black magic and gave me something to eat. I reluctantly ate the food due to my husband’s compulsion. Within a few months, I conceived and gave birth to a baby girl. Unfortunately, she was born without both her hands. Hence, I cried out to God asking Him to forgive me.”
“I brought up my daughter in Godly ways. I taught her to pray and read the Scriptures. During her youth, she was very zealous for the Lord. She spent most of her time in reading the Scriptures and in prayer. One day, the Lord appeared to her and said, ‘My beloved daughter, I am with you always. I shall come with you wherever you go. I shall exalt you to a great position and many shall work under you.’ After this divine encounter, my daughter was very much strengthened in Him.”
According to His promise, the Lord exalted her to a great position. Presently, this girl runs a restaurant and many people work under her. She cooks and cleans the room with her legs. She holds the Bible with her legs and read. She also help others with her legs. I was very much attracted by her statement, “Although I do not have hands, I have my loving Jesus with me who does everything for me.” In the interview, even her father said, “My daughter is my right hand.” This is true because the Lord had enabled her to take care of her entire family.
We have such a loving God! You may be sincere in many things but still you may not get an answer for your prayer. At that time, you may even murmur saying, “Lord, You are not listening to my prayer and You are not answering my cry.” All you have to do is to humble yourself and get closer to Him. When you call upon Him in truth, He will listen to you. The Bible says that the work of the Almighty God is full of grace. He is a God of grace, righteousness and faithfulness. He shall embrace you and bless you. He shall answer all your prayers and heal you.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You are a loving God. You are the Lord of grace, righteousness and faithfulness. Your love endures forever. You are near to those who call upon You in truth. I come to your presence in humility. I seek Your face. Answer me when I call unto you, Oh righteous Lord. Hear my righteous plea and listen to my cry. Save me from my distress. Wash me with your blood and make me righteous. Grant me my desires.
